Caroline Lavigne – Chantilly

The Eye, the Texture, the Scene

Stylist, curator, and multidisciplinary artist, Caroline Lavigne explores form, material, and visual encounters with a uniquely refined sensibility. While she was the one who inspired David Mahéo to return to painting, she is far more than a muse — she is a powerful creator in her own right, with an artistic voice that harmonizes beautifully with David’s.

A stylist with an artist’s eye

Trained in fashion and design, Caroline developed a keen taste for volume, drape, and raw or recycled materials. Her work blends textile art, scenography, installations, and one-of-a-kind pieces — often at the intersection of art and craft.

She draws inspiration from movement, shadowplay, unexpected lines. She transforms, repurposes, and reveals things in new light.

A curator — inspired and inspiring

In 2012, it was Caroline who first exhibited David Mahéo’s drawings in her boutique. She saw what others had not yet noticed — the raw energy and emotional truth of his instinctive line. Ever since, she has curated and shaped their artistic journey together, offering her sharp eye and quiet elegance to every project.

A creative duo in motion

Their artistic bond comes alive in live painting performances: side by side, they create artworks with four hands, spontaneous and deeply expressive.
Caroline designs immersive exhibitions and thinks of each detail as part of a living tableau. She brings spaces to life with feeling and intention.

Her own creations

Beyond her work with David, Caroline continues to develop her own artistic language — through textile experiments, soft sculptures, repurposed objects, and meticulously crafted pieces. She occasionally exhibits and also designs bespoke projects for interior spaces, showcases, or artistic collaborations.

Rooted artist, free spirit

Based in Brittany, Caroline brings together contemporary art, intimacy, and daily life. She embraces the ephemeral, finds grace in simplicity, and weaves stories that grow slowly over time.
